Weeklongs
Week-long sessions are held at our friend’s place in Loveland, Colorado. The format is very personal, and easily accommodates riders of various disciplines and with a wide range goals. A maximum of eight students are accepted per clinic. Students work one-on-one with Mark, in addition to working as a group. Students have the opportunity to work cattle if they wish. We also have a trail obstacle course, a water crossing and jumps to work with. Each morning begins with a meeting in which each student develops a plan for the day. The morning meeting is followed by a few unmounted exercises which help put a feel behind some of the words we use in our horsemanship (like "softness", "blending", and "feel"). Then we work with our horses all morning, break for lunch, and work with the horses again for the afternoon. Each day is closed with another meeting at which the students go over what they learned that day. The Loveland facility encompasses two round pens, a sand arena, an unfenced open riding area, a pond, a trail course and individual pens for visiting horses. It is a clean, safe and supportive place to work on your horsemanship. The nearest airport is Denver International Airport which is about an hour south of the venue. The price is $975 per person for the week ($1,300 if you need to use one of our horses – we strongly urge you to bring your own horse). This price includes all training and facility fees, plus a continental breakfast, catered gourmet lunch, snacks, water and soft drinks. It does not include your evening meal, lodging, or feed for your horse. Camping in your own completely self-contained unit is available on site for $12 per night. If you want to check lodging information ahead of time, go to www.loveland-colorado.net/. We highly recommend the Berthoud Bed & Breakfast www.berthoudbandb.com. There are no auditors. Sessions are designed for intermediate to experienced riders. The dates for 2008 are listed on the Clinic Schedule page on this website. Please contact us for a registration form and information sheet. Also, let us know if you want to be included on the waiting list for a last-minute cancellation. Feel free to contact us by email if you have any further questions.
